A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A MEDICAL RECORDS COORDINATOR

In this role your medical records responsibilities will include filing information such as nurses' notes, resident assessments, progress notes, laboratory reports, x-ray results, correspondence, etc., into resident charts. You'll also assist in developing procedures to ensure resident records are properly completed, assembled, coded, signed, indexed, etc., before filing and return incomplete records/charts to the appropriate personnel for correction. Retrieve medical records when requested by authorized personnel and maintain a record of authorized information on a regular basis.

With patience and a calm demeanor, you treat those you care for just the way you would want your own family members treated. You go home each day tired but feeling good about the positive impact you have made in the lives of so many in your community.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A MEDICAL RECORDS COORDINATOR

• Previous medical record filing and maintenance experience preferred
